This Observatory Desk Case is available either with Full Moon (grey) or Blue Moon; please select option above

Full Moon

The moon has been observed and drawn from earth for over 2000 years. But only since theLunar 3 mission in 1959 and subsequent NASA Apollo missions have we known the appearance of the far side.

Created using NASA survey data, with elevations somewhat exaggerated, we believe this little pocket lunar globe is as topographically correct as a hand-made moon at a scale of 1:65,584,905 can be.

Blue Moon

The rare occasion of two full moons occurring within the same calendar month, happens approximately every two and a half years, most recently in July 2015. The expression Once in a Blue Moon, has become synonymous with rare and special events.
